Logline: “A Cold Burn” follows a single female rower clawing her way through winter training, dreaming of being on the water.

“A Cold Burn” is a radical exploration of athletic identity in rowing, and how that’s formed under the pressure of off-water/winter training. The film defies the portrayal of women and LGBTQ in sport in an effort to demonstrate the additional weight they must carry to not be left behind. The powerful performances in this film come exclusively from female rowers on the RIT rowing team.
